Residents should prepare for a multi-day winter weather event that will bring accumulating snow, gusty winds, and bitterly cold temperatures. Travel conditions are expected to be hazardous, particularly for the Friday morning commute.

Key Weather Hazards & Timing

• Winter Weather Advisory: A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the region, in effect from 7:00 PM Thursday, December 11, to 10:00 AM Friday, December 12. This indicates that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties.

• Accumulating Snow:

• Thursday Night into Friday Morning: A weather system will bring accumulating snow, with the heaviest snowfall likely impacting the Friday morning commute. Be prepared for slippery roads and reduced visibility.

• Saturday into Saturday Night: Another system is forecast to bring additional accumulating snow, with the greatest potential late Saturday into Saturday night.

• High Winds: Gusty winds of 30-40 mph are possible on Thursday. These winds, combined with falling snow, could further reduce visibility and lead to blowing snow.

Friday, Dec 12: High near 35°F, low around 28°F. Snow is likely in the morning, tapering off to snow showers later. Travel will be difficult in the morning.

Saturday, Dec 13: High near 28°F, with temperatures plummeting to a low near 7°F at night. Snow showers are likely throughout the day and into the night. Prepare for dangerous wind chills.

Please use OFF off-street parking Whenever Available.

Operating a snowplow in winter conditions is already challenging, and parked cars on the street make it even harder to keep our roads safe. Please help our Service Department by moving vehicles into your driveways whenever possible. When shoveling or using a snow blower, avoid throwing snow back into the street, as this creates additional hazards. Our goal is to make village streets safe and passable for everyone, and the last thing we want is to accidentally damage your vehicle while doing so.
